Computers are not scary
Remember when he was a kid and saw his first car? For older people, the answer could be yes. For them, the first car was most likely an object of astonishment. It wasn't necessarily something to fear, just something unknown. It was something he had heard of, but had not had any experience with it. He was not scary.
For most of the others, he does not remember the first time he saw a car, because it has always existed. You are not afraid of them because you know them. The younger generation of youth feels the same about computers.
Many of you will remember the first time you saw a computer. It was something strange that you weren't familiar with. For some of you, it was exciting. For others, it was not. But at some point he decided that using a computer was something that only the youngest (or most "talented") people should do.
We have passed the era where cars are only for the wealthiest. Now everyone has a car. In earlier days, it was perfectly fine to walk everywhere. Some still do, but most have learned to drive. These days, there are still a few that can "get around" just fine without the use of a computer, but most people use them several times a week.
However, in the same way that most people view cars, younger generations view computers. Computers are not something to fear. They are just something you are not familiar with. That doesn't make them bad. And it doesn't hurt.
So, in the same way that you've gotten used to cars, go ahead and have fun with computers. Play. It won't break it, just like it didn't break your car the first time you got in it. Go for it! Have fun!
