Proper tracking of your articles
Writing articles related to your business is a great way to increase the popularity of your links and also to provide more content for your site and other sites. Not to mention, it's always nice when someone finds your site and uses it within their newsletter.
The only problem is, what if people didn't tell you that they were using your articles? How would you know who to reward?
I say reward for another article I wrote, "reward those who publish your articles." Briefly describe how to increase the popularity of your articles by boosting the other sites you appear on.
Let's say for now, you just want to properly track your items.
# 1 Creating appropriate forlders within your "favorites". Each browser allows you to create a folder to store your favorite websites. Organizing your bookmarks folder is key when planning to market your business 24/7. In this case, we will create a new folder called "Listed Items".
Within that folder, you'll want to start creating other "subcategories" for EACH INDIVIDUAL ITEM you sell.
For example, let's say you have about 10 articles that you always promote, you will want to add 10 folders inside your new "Listed Articles Folder". Be sure to give them a short but recognizable name that allows you to distinguish what item it is for.
Ex. (I'll use 3 of my titles)
Track Your Articles Correctly (Folder: Article Tracking)
Writing articles to increase your traffic (folder: Writing articles)
Reward those who publish your articles (Folder: Reward editors)
# 2 Always keep the same title for your article - I have visited many sites that constantly change the title of the article just to make it look like a different article. Don't be shy, I'm sure we've all thought about it, in fact I'm guilty too.
From now on, let's all keep the same headline ...
The reason for keeping the same title is 1 to maintain strong consistency with your marketing and 2 to make your articles easier to find online.
# 3 - Find all your items: now we are going to find them for you ... (Hoping you have already created your folders within your favorites menu?)
I prefer to use the Google toolbar for this, but it is not required.
Why google? Simply the best...
Take your first article and cut and paste the EXACT title within Google search.
Adding "" to the beginning and end will limit your search to exactly what is in the middle.
For ex. "Track your articles correctly" would give me better results than if I had to search: track your articles correctly. In fact, I recommend that you try both methods just in case.
Now, once you've found a site that has listed your article, add the exact page your article appears on to the appropriate folder you created within your "favorites menu."
Another thing is, if you plan to reward those sites, you now have them all separated into the proper categories.
Hope this helps you even a little bit like it did me.
