How to Speed Up Your Computer Quickly
I'm sure you've found tons of articles and even suggestions from some of your friends on how to make your computer run faster. It really is not that difficult to increase internet speed. I'm going to make it really simple for you and you don't need to be a computer geek for this to work. The first thing to remember is never, and I mean absolutely never, download programs, especially freeware, without reading the fine print. Most free computer programs will bombard your computer with spyware that will eventually stop the internet speed. If your computer is already infected with spyware, you can download the leading spyware remover called ad -ware, which will scan your computer and remove spyware and tracking cookies from your computer.
Another way to make your computer and Internet connection faster is to click Start, then run and type msconfig. Go to the startup tab and remove any programs except your antivirus software and any other programs that need to start when Windows starts. This tip will dramatically increase your computer's startup time!
Step number 3, and I do it almost daily, is clearing your internet cache. Go to your control panel which you can access from your home button and click on the internet options. Go to temporary internet files and clear your history. I would recommend that you also set the internet history to a maximum of 2 days. The next step is to delete your temporary internet files, including offline content. The last step is to delete the cookies. However, be careful because deleting your cookies will also remove useful information from your computer.
These steps are the basics you can follow that will speed up your internet connection right away. I would also recommend doing a virus check on your computer weekly. If you don't have antivirus software, get it! You will be happy you did. A single virus can wreak havoc on your computer! Be sure to test your internet speed, whether it's broadband or dial-up, before and after following these simple steps so you can see if these steps have worked.
