The first thing to remember is never, and I mean absolutely never, download programs, especially freeware, without reading the fine print. These steps are the basics you can follow that will speed up your internet connection right away. I would also recommend doing a virus check on your computer weekly. If you don't have antivirus software, get it! You will be happy you did. A single virus can wreak havoc on your computer! Be sure to test your internet speed, whether it's broadband or dial-up, before and after following these simple steps so you can see if these steps have worked.
