Six tips to get rid of spam email
1. Ignore spam
Do not open an unsolicited email. Spammers are just playing a numbers game. They just send like a million emails and expect at least a third of them to stick around.
Spammers try to collect as many email addresses as they can. They don't even know if any of the addresses are active. It is when he tells them that they know whether or not it is an active account that is verified frequently.
2. DO NOT click the unsubscribe links
It's natural that you want to click the link at the bottom of the email that promises you can be removed from your email list, but don't think for a second that this is what happens.
When you click the "click here if you want to stop receiving these emails" link, spammers simply change the name that sends it to you. All it has shown is that you are, in fact, opening and reading emails.
3. Use multiple email addresses
Since spam is unavoidable, set up a "dummy" email address. You would use this address when you sign up for newsletters, order products, enter contests, and register your new software.
You'd like to avoid using your primary email address or the email address you receive from your ISP for things like that. This is the email that you would give to your contacts or “safe people”.
4. Do not publish your address
If you have a website, please avoid posting your email address in the "Contact Me" section.
Since spammers scan websites for the @ symbol, type your email address with the word "at".
That makes it a little harder for spammers to find your email address because they use special software that looks for the symbol, and not just the words.
5. Don't buy from spam
The worst thing you could do is buy some spam. Imagine how perfect the world would be if everyone came together to refuse to buy things offered in an unsolicited email. Spammers would be out of business by the time they realized they weren't getting anywhere.
6. Beware of free trial software
For every legitimate download, there are many that are designed to obtain your personal information, eventually leading to more spam. This is particularly popular with free trial software and free software.
Spammers use this method similar to how they would use a giveaway promotion and login contest. That is one of the most beneficial ways for spammers to hook you.
